I accepted the invitation to be the badminton patron at the 14th European Maccabi Games 2015 with great joy.

Before I was asked to be a patron, I personally did not know much about the European Maccabi Games. That’s why I hope that the Games in Berlin will help these special competitions to become more known and help the athletes to be acknowledged medially.

Badminton is a sport that has many fans in Berlin and I hope for the organization team and all participants that many of them will come to the venue.

In the past, much injustice towards Jewish people came from Berlin. Because of that, is a very positive sign that Berlin is the host of the 14th European Maccabi Games. May the cosmopolitanism of Berlin and Germany help to make this sports event successful, joyful and peaceful for all participants.

I wish all participants nice and fair competitions, but especially wonderful memories of the stay in Berlin and Germany.

I am looking forward to the Games and feel very honored to be one of the sports patrons.
